# column_property

> column_property — Kinetica Rust API

[Source](https://github.com/kineticadb/kinetica-api-rust/blob/master/crates/gpudb-api/src/column_property.rs#L1-L100)

The column properties a Kinetica type can give its columns, as text. A [`Column`](https://docs.kinetica.com/content/api/rust/generic_record/struct.Column) takes them in its properties, and [`KineticaColumnProperties`](https://docs.kinetica.com/content/api/rust/avro_schema_builder/struct.KineticaColumnProperties) builds them.
