[Source](https://github.com/kineticadb/kinetica-api-rust/blob/master/crates/gpudb-api/src/known_types.rs#L40-L64)
pub async fn [add\_known\_type\_from\_table](https://docs.kinetica.com/content/api/rust/gpudb/struct.Kinetica/add-known-type-from-table.md#method.add_known_type_from_table)( \&self, table\_name: &[str](https://doc.rust-lang.org/1.98.1/std/primitive.str.html), record\_type: [Option](https://doc.rust-lang.org/1.98.1/core/option/enum.Option.html)\<[Arc](https://doc.rust-lang.org/1.98.1/alloc/sync/struct.Arc.html)\<[Type](https://docs.kinetica.com/content/api/rust/generic_record/struct.Type.md)>>, ) -> [Result](https://doc.rust-lang.org/1.98.1/core/result/enum.Result.html)\<[()](https://doc.rust-lang.org/1.98.1/std/primitive.unit.html), [KineticaError](https://docs.kinetica.com/content/api/rust/errors/enum.KineticaError.md)>

Makes `record_type` the type records of `table_name`’s type are decoded by, as [`Kinetica::add_known_type`](https://docs.kinetica.com/content/api/rust/gpudb/struct.Kinetica/add-known-type#method.add_known_type) does for a type ID. Fails if the table does not exist or holds records of more than one type.
