See Roles for details about roles within Kinetica. A new role can be created as a container for permissions or other roles, though both of those must be granted to the role after its creation. Optionally, the role can be associated with a resource group.

CREATE ROLE Syntax

CREATE ROLE <role name>
[ [WITH] RESOURCE GROUP [=] <group name> ]

Examples

To create an analyst role:

CREATE ROLE Example

CREATE ROLE analyst

To create an executive role, assigning it the execution_over_memory resource group:

CREATE ROLE with Resource Group Example

CREATE ROLE executive
WITH RESOURCE GROUP execution_over_memory
